A “patch” to Tap.Tools 3.0.1 is now available for people also trying to use the upcoming Jamoma 0.5 release. Because Tap.Tools and Jamoma share some of the underlying frameworks for DSP processing, they need to be kept in sync to function properly.

The latest version of Jamoma can be found @ http://jamoma.org/download.html . The Tap.Tools 3.0.2 patch can be found here:

How to Install

Assuming you’ve installed Tap.Tools 3.0.1, then Jamoma 0.5, you can drag this version of the tap.tools.mxo into your
/Applications/Max5/Cycling '74/extensions
folder, replacing the old version of the tap.tools.mxo.

In the future…

There is a Tap.Tools 3.1 in process which will alleviate the need for this. A significant amount of work still needs to be done before that will be released. Hope this helps!

Tap.Tools 3.0.1 is getting closer to release, and one of the new features is shown in this screenshot: the tap.inquisitor object. This object accesses the list of attributes of another object and allows you to query the values of that object’s attributes.

After almost 8 months of beta, we’ve now released Tap.Tools 3.0 for Max 5.

In addition to supporting Max 5, there a bunch of nice new features and updates. All of the info can be found on the website. We greatly underestimated the amount of effort that was going to be required when set out to make a major upgrade of Tap.Tools, and it’s very gratifying to now see it released.

If you order before December 31, you can enter the discount code 2008ELECTROTAPCHRISTMAS on the checkout page you will receive 5% off of your order. Merry Christmas!

A new beta of Tap.Tools has been posted to the registered users pages. Among other things, the crash of tap.applescript in Max 5.0.5 has been addressed. The documentation still has a ways to go, but it has also come a long ways since the last beta.

Compatibility with Jamoma has also been further improved.

A new beta of Tap.Tools is available on the registered users pages for Tap.Tools. It is mostly a minor update for the majority of users, but for some users on older machines/operating systems, or those using the bleeding edge version of Jamoma, it is essential.

Hopefully we’ll be able to wrap up the final Tap.Tools 3.0 release by the end of the month.
